Celebrating our Twentieth Anniversary in Kingwood, TX, The Black Belt Academy has grown into one of the top martial arts schools in the country. We’re home to over 250 children and adults who enjoy our authentic and traditional classes in Taekwondo, Tai Chi, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Fitness Kickboxing and more.
We’ve been featured in The Kingwood Observer, the Houston Chronicle, and have been guest speakers for numerous organizations. We have offered our National Safety N.E.T. program to hundreds of children in the area. Our school was selected to run the Taekwondo programs for the YMCA, the Kingwood Athletic Club as well as the Christian School of Kingwood.

We know how difficult it is to find a quality after-school program. Most programs are little more than glorified babysitting services with no structured plan to improve your child’s health, self-esteem, behavior, confidence, focus, manners, leadership skills or self-discipline.

At our After-School Program, your child will get into great shape physically and learn valuable self-defense skills. But that’s just the beginning.

If you’ve ever walked into other after-school programs and felt like “the lunatics were running the asylum,” you’ll be very pleased when you visit The Black Belt Academy. Unlike with many other programs, at The Black Belt Academy your child is always supervised and required to follow a strict code of behavior with a clear purpose; “Successful Learning and Character Development.” We are State Licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.
Our entire program is carefully planned out and structured so that you can see how step-by-step your child will gain improved self-esteem, behavior, confidence, focus, manners, leadership skills and self-discipline.

If
you will give us the opportunity to train your child in the martial
arts, we will give you back a more confident, respectful, goal-oriented
member of society. We will teach lifeskills through martial art
skills that will directly impact the rest of your child's life!
We provide transportation from the following schools:
- Bear Branch Elementary
- CSK (Christian School of Kingwood)
- Deerwood Elementary
- Elm Grove Elementary
- Greentree Elementary
- Hidden Hollow Elementary
- Shadow Forest Elementary
- Willow Creek Elementary
- Woodland Hills Elementary
*We only transport students from middle schools that
were previously in our After School Program who have graduated from
elementary. We do pick up from Creekwood, Kingwood and Riverwood.
If you are inquiring about "New" memberships, please speak
with our AMP director.
Your child will have some of the best character education
classes the martial arts world offers! There will be lifeskills
taught every class. The lifeskills will be discussed and demonstrated
for 2 month cycles. Some examples of these lifeskills are: Focus,
Discipline, Respect, Perseverance, Goal-Setting, etc. There will
be no other place your child will be taught these lifeskills after
school (most of the time they won't learn them in school either).
This is one way to make sure that what your child hears at home
will be supported by what they hear from our Black Belts and Instructors!
6:00pm is the latest the children may be picked up.
We are open on School Holidays!
Whenever there is a school day off (teacher inservice, etc.), we
will be open all day. There is a nominal fee of $10 per child. For
winter and spring camps, there is a minimum number of students required
for us to host these and an additional fee.
New Members can enroll throughout the entire year,
(during the semester or during our all day summer camp). Our program
is set up to give beginners the attention they need while training
in the martial arts.
